Build of the Month [August 2012] “Beast”
So, AMD has let us down and then made us drool over their CPUs over the years. Most recently with the disappointing reviews of the “Bulldozer” CPU. But with the upcoming “Trinity” A10 APUs, Intel’s world can be rocked by AMD. Recently the gaming community has leaned towards Intel’s Core “i” series because of the benchmark numbers that boggle the mind of every computer enthusiast. In reality, benchmarking your rig and using it for gaming are two very different things. Benchmarking is for those who want to push their computer to the breaking point. Gaming, on the other hand, wouldn’t really push your computer to that point. Most games don’t require a quad core, or even a 3GHz clock. So we are left for one option, what can we build that would be perfect for gaming and benchmarking? I might have a clue.
Now, don’t believe that the Bulldozer is a bad CPU. It handles data a lot better than the i7, and it still has room for decent benchmark numbers. Remember, gaming and benchmarking are two very different things.
