E3 Will Stay in LA After All Until 2015

Immediately following this years E3 2012 there was much talk of  the venue changing locations due re-negotiations between the city of Los Angeles and E3. At first hint of this news I thought oh noooo! E3 will no longer be a simple hour long drive for me! But after my selfishness subdued I realized how inconvenient  the venue could have been to others. One thing’s for sure a drive to LA is never a fun one being one of the most congested cities in the world it’s hard to get anywhere on time. Another thing I don’t like in particular is the way the two show room floors are laid out it was very inconvenient to go from one to the other but then again i’m just nit picking.

My mind then drifted on to think of other wonderful locations that E3 could call home, one place came to mind immediately and that’s the city of sin viva Las Vegas!. I’ve attended CES in Vegas with the Noble Press team and I must say it was quite a pleasurable experience. There’s no worry of transportation since the convention had buses and shuttles going to and from all the major hotels on the strip and even some off and this happens even the later hours of the day. Las Vegas is truly the city that never sleeps just think after a fun filled day of demos and game announcements you can go anywhere and get your drink on, hell you can walk openly on the street drinking if you please, the cops there encourage it literally!
Sadly my thoughts were simply pipe dreams but wait 2015 it could happen, until then I will just dream. Michael D. Gallagher, CEO of the ESA  released the following statement confirming E3 will continue to be held in LA until 2015:

“We are proud to partner with Los Angeles for another three years. The City serves as a strong backdrop for the video game industry’s biggest announcements and we look forward to remaining in LA,”
“Video games are a dominant force in the global entertainment marketplace and there is no better place to display that than Los Angeles. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the City and AEG.”
