Nintendo Direct: 3DS XL Announcement
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he new Nintendo 3DS XL will feature a 4.88 top screen and 4.18 bottom screen. It’s due to hit stores on August 19 for $199.99 and on July 28 in Europe. The console will ship with 4GB memory card. The colors that will be available on release include red, blue, and a silver option for Europe.
In addition, the new console also promises an extended battery life. The estimates are between 3.5 to 6.5 hours for a 3DS game and 6 to 10 hours on a DS game. In order to keep cost down, the console will not launch with an AC adapter. Instead, the accessory will be sold separate.
I was disappointed to find out the 3DS will not have a second circle pad. I’m sure that the XL circle pad attachment will be introduced later this year, there’s going to be games like Monster Hunter which will require it. It goes to mention this will be another accessory Nintendo will get to profit off of so expect it.
[dropcap]A[/dropcap]s if the PS Vita wasn’t doing bad enough, Nintendo goes and kicks Sony when it’s down. It will be interesting to see how Sony will try and come back from this one. What do you think readers? Will the XL be a hit or miss?
